Curcumin’s ability to fight Alzheimer’s studied

Originally posted on lyranara.me:

One of the most promising new treatments for Alzheimer’s disease may already be in your kitchen. Curcumin, a natural product found in the spice turmeric, has been used by many Asian cultures for centuries, and a new study indicates a close chemical analog of curcumin has properties that may make it useful as a treatment for the brain disease.

“Curcumin has demonstrated ability to enter the brain, bind and destroy the beta-amyloid plaques present in Alzheimer’s with reduced toxicity,” said Wellington Pham, Ph.D., assistant professor of Radiology and Radiological Sciences and Biomedical Engineering at Vanderbilt and senior author of the study, published recently in theJournal of Alzheimer’s Disease.

Accumulation and aggregation of protein fragments, known as beta-amyloid, drives the irreversible loss of neurons in Alzheimer’s disease.

Developing small molecules to reduce this accumulation or promote its demolition is crucial, but the ability of these small molecules to cross…

What makes pancreatic cancer so aggressive? New study sheds light

Originally posted on lyranara.me:

New research from the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center helps explain why pancreatic cancer is so lethal, with fewer than a third of patients surviving even early stage disease.

The researchers found a gene known to be involved in nearly 90 percent of pancreatic cancers promotes cancer growth and spread. The gene, ATDC, plays a key role in how a tumor progresses from a preinvasive state to an invasive cancer to metastatic cancer.

“We know that patients with the earliest stage of pancreatic cancer have a survival rate of only 30 percent. This suggests that even in that very early stage of invasive cancer there are already cells that have spread to distant parts of the body,” says study author Diane M. Simeone, M.D., director of the Pancreatic Cancer Center at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center.

“This study sheds important light on what it is about pancreatic…

Which Dietary Factors Affect Breast Cancer Most?

Dietary Factors That Effect Breast CancerBy: Dr. Michael Greger, Director of Public Health and Animal Agriculture at the Humane Society of the United States.

American Institute for Cancer Research recommendation compliance associated not only with cancer prevention and survival but less heart and respiratory disease mortality and a longer lifespan.

My favorite cancer-specific charity is the American Institute for Cancer Research, shown here lauding the China Study and the documentary Forks Over Knives, with which they share the same bottom-line message. The healthiest diets are those that revolve around whole plant foods. This increased awareness of the importance of plant-based eating is something all of them at AICR welcome.

They then translate that advice into their Ten Recommendations for Cancer Prevention. Do we actually have evidence, though, that those that follow such advice are actually protected against cancer? We do now.

Water is the key… Kangen that is

I’ve been seeing cancer patients for more than 10 years now and i can truly say that each patient who have added Kangen water, not only have a longer survival but more importantly they are actually thriving.

Many people have been misinformed or misinterpreted that Kangen is only alkaline and have no advantage over other machines in the market.

But the real reason for its great benefit in cancer is the micro clustering structure and can actually dissolve any substance that are hydrophilic, meaning it absorbs water.

Kudos to the one who thought of this water processing truly a life saver for cancer patients.

PS. I do not sell distribute or own shares for a Kangen water company. I only am stating what i have observed and hope it will help guide other patients with the same predicament.
